- Dr. James E. Guffey
- Is a former Police Officer, investigator
- and evidence technician for the City of Oakland Police Department (13 years). He has a B.S. Degree in Industrial Relations, an M.A. in Police Science from Sam Houston State University, and a Ph.D. In
Public Administration from Golden Gate University.
- Dr. Guffey is currently the Director of the
- Public Safety Division at Poterville College. In this position, he coordinates both the academic and vocational courses for law enforcement, corrections and fire technology. He was previously a
Professor of Criminal Justice Administration at the California State University, Hayward.
- Dr. Guffey is a retired Lieutenant Colonel
- (USAR) with 29 years of service to his country. During his U.S. Army career, he taught military science at the University of California at Davis, the combined Arms & Services Staff School at Fort
Leavenworth, Kansas, and was an adjunct instructor at the United State Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.. Dr Guffey has had numerous articles published in various law enforcement journals.
