| WESTERN Postcards show many views of various cowboys in action. This is a fascinating topic to collect. It is so very historical! Many early pictures of cowboys in the old time clothing of the west. Many are views of rodeo
action. One excellent Western linen group of cards are the Post Card Storiettes, which have excerpts from Dramatic True Stories from the Great West. They were produced by C.T.Art-Colortone. Many early scenes of cowboys herding cattle & the chromes
of Billy the Kid and Wild Bill Hickock, Wyatt Earp, etc., are great cards too. The turn of the century cards of western scenes, signed by JOHN INNES and C.M.Russell. One should never leave out the great comics that
were done over the years in this topic. The H.T.Tammin signed: "PETERSON" cards are very special cards! The PETLEY and the H.Empie cards are two of my favorites. There are so very many varieties of cards in this topic, that one could go on forever.
Even the REG MANNING Western linens can fit here, even though they show many Indians in the views. The wonderful cards done in the 1950's by DUDE LARSON is another group of postcards that are great to collect for their historical value. They have the
quality of the E.C.Kropp cards. Below are listed many of the cards that have been mentioned here and, many others! |
